The main question people are asking is do herbal treatments
really work and are they effective alternatives to Viagra, Cialis or
Levitra?
This is an important question as 40% of men experience erectile
dysfunction during their lifetime.
Firstly lets look at Viagra and Cialis to see what are the main
reasons people are looking to alternatives :
Why not Viagra or Cialis
Viagra®:
Viagra® (Sildenafil Citrate) is used as a therapy for erectile dysfunction, and is administered orally. Sildenafil is a selective inhibitor of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5).
The many side-effects of Viagra® have been tabulated below:

Apart from the above, Viagra® has also shown interactions with many other drugs.
What other drugs are known to affect Sildenafil?
- Sildenafil must not be taken if a nitrate drug is also being taken for angina or other heart problems. These nitrates include:
- nitroglycerin (Nitrostat, Nitrolingual, Nitro-Dur, Nitro-Bid, Minitran, Deponit, Transderm-Nitro),
- isosorbide dinitrate (Dilatrate-SR, Isordil, Sorbitrate), and
- isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur, ISMO, Monoket), or
- recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate or nitrite ("poppers")
- Your doctor must be notified before you use Sildenafil, if you are on any of the following medication:
- bosentan (Tracleer);
- cimetidine (Tagamet, Tagamet HB);
- an antibiotic such as erythromycin (E-Mycin, Eryc, Ery-Tab) or clarithromycin (Biaxin);
- doxazosin (Cardura), prazosin (Minipress), Terazosin (Hytrin);
- HIV medicines such as amprenavir (Agenerase), tipranavir (Aptivus), darunavir (Prezista), efavirenz (Sustiva), nevirapine (Viramune), indinavir (Crixivan), saquinavir (Invirase, Fortovase), lopinavir/ ritonavir (Kaletra), fosamprenavir (Lexiva), ritonavir (Norvir), atazanavir (Reyataz), or nelfinavir (Viracept);
- an antifungal medication such as itraconazole (Sporanox) or ketoconazole (Nizoral);
- carbamazepine (Tegretol), phenobarbital (Luminal), or phenytoin (Dilantin); or
- Rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane) or rifabutin (Mycobutin).
- If any of the above medicines are being taken, you might require appropriate dosage adjustments or special tests to be taken or you might just not be allowed to use Sildenafil at all.
However, that’s not the end of the list. There might be others that affect Sildenafil too. It is safest to let your doctor know all details of your medications, both prescribed and over-the-counter. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. New medication must not be started unless your doctor is notified of the same.
-
Cialis®:Cialis® (tadalafil) is also a selective inhibitor of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), and used in the treatment of ED.
Like Viagra®, Cialis® too has an enormous list of side effects as listed below:

Now lets look at the natural ingredients that are used to in
natural supplements
| Tongkat Ali- Tongkat Ali has become popular for its testosterone-enhancing
properties. Some scientific studies suggest that this
natural ingredient enhances sexual characteristics and
performance. |
 |
| Tribulus terrestris- Tribulus terrestris has been shown to increase sex drive. Its use for this purpose originated in Eastern Europe in the 1970's. Independent studies have suggested that Tribulus terrestris extract slightly increases hormone levels, though leaving them in the normal range. |
 |
| Cordyceps Extract (7%)- Cordyceps sinensis is a powerful aphrodisiac. Recent studies performed in both China and Japan demonstrated a 64 percent success rate among men suffering from impotence. Scientists have isolated two chemical constituents in cordyceps, (deoxyadenosine) and cordycepic acid (mannitol),
which are thought to be the active compounds that increase
sex drive the natural way. |
 |
| Yohimbine (10%)- Yohimbine has been used as a prescription medicine in the US to treat male impotence. Yohimbine changes physiological structures by adjusting the movement of nerve receptors, which leads to feelings of arousal and excitement.
This is a proven natural ingredient that is being used
today. |
 |
| Korean Ginseng- A 2002 study by the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine found that in laboratory animals, both Asian and American forms of ginseng enhance libido and sexual performance. These effects of ginseng may not be due to changes in hormone secretion, but to direct effects of ginseng, or its ginsenoside components, on the central nervous system and gonadal tissues.] In males, ginsenosides can facilitate penile erection.
Again this is natural ingredient and we get it from
the source to put in our ultimate natural male enhancement
pill. |

What To Look For in a Natural Herbal Impotence Pill
With so many herbal "Male Enhancement/Enlargement/Sexual
Performance/ Impotence" products being advertised, it can be
difficult to choose products that can actually help and are
safe. Also, some supplements contain herbs that may be
dangerous.
* Make sure it is manufactured in and shipped from the United
States.
* Look for potentially dangerous ingredients.
* Look for ingredients that aid overall health as well as
ingredients selected strictly for ED and enhanced performance.
* Look for chemical additives.
* Look for a product guarantee.
The herbs listed above represent those that have demonstrated
positive effects treating ED and increasing libido and energy.
Summary
Cialis and Viagra have proven to be an excellent prescription drug
for men with impotence.
Positives: Fast acting and tends to have stronger 36 hour effect
than herbs specifically at enabling an erection.
Negatives: Costs, side effects, short term (36 hours) and it only
treats the symptom of impotence but does nothing help causes of
impotence, low sex drive or improved body functions.
Herbal impotence and enhancement products have a demonstrated
positive effect on male impotence. Some herbs act similar to Cialis
and Viagra at enhancing the body's use of Nitric Oxide.
Positives: Cost, minimal or no side effects, positive effects tend
to accumulate and become more produced over time. Dosages can be
missed and benefits are retained. Herbal formulations have positive
benefits on multiple body functions (cardiovascular, endocrine,
muscular and nervous system) essential to a strong erection and sex
drive.
Negatives: Immediate short term effect is not as pronounced as
Cialis.
